pianoAbout
An album by American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington, recorded for the Columbia label in 1960, featured jazz interpretations of The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky, arranged by Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. Who else could have come up with Toot Toot Tootie Toot (Dance of the Reed-Pipes), Peanut Brittle Brigade (March) and Sugar Rum Cherry (Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy).
Join the great Julian Joseph and our resident big band for an evening of Christmas jazz magic.
